Bryan Lomax grew up in the town of Warrington, in the county of Cheshire, England. He is the youngest of three sons to Gregory and Janet Lomax. He attended Woolston High School and Sixth Form Centre from 1991 until 1997 and studied a Bachelor of Arts in Media (with TV Production) under the University of Manchester, from 2003 until 2006, gaining an upper 2:1 classification. From 2006 until 2007, he studied a Master of Arts degree in Television Production under the University of Chester, gaining a pass with distinction. His film, Far From Home, won the 'Best Documentary' category in Total Film's short film competition in 2008. After working for a few years on several music videos, including co-directing the release of Hayseed Dixie's 'No Sleep 'til Liverpool' DVD, he moved into directing feature length documentaries, starting with 'The Life and Times and Real Robyn Hoode' in 2015, then 'Riches' in 2018. He also worked as 1st assistant director on the 2017 TV series, Staying Power.
